John Legend Mural Dedication at The Fire

Did you know that John Legend got his start right here in the neighborhood at The Fire’s weekly open mic night?

The mural, by Alloyius Mcilwaine  noted Philadelphia born mural artist,  will feature a large image of John Legend who began his career singing at The Fire, as well as a smaller image of Yasko Fujii, Japanese opera star and TV personality who has starred in 2 of the 16 world premiere Italian operas created by IOT( International Opera Theater of Philadelphia) at The Prince Music Theater and Teatro degli Avvalkranti, Citta della Pieve, Italy. IOT headquarters are also housed in the buildings. The mural also mentions The Fire is the only woman owned original music venue in Philadelphia. IT pays tribute to the power of music to unify and uplift our world.
