In 2020 I formed the Design Standards Committee in conjunction with Northern Liberties – BID. The following is the proposed outline. We did follow through with mapping the 2nd street corridor and proposing a base set of design elements for street furniture.

Design Standards Committee Committee Members:

Committee Scope: The DSC develops best practices for the neighborhood, with specific emphasis on design.

1. Define uniform design standards for elements including, but not limited to:

Sidewalks – design & specification

Trees & tree surrounds – layout & product selections

Planters – layout & product selections

Street lighting – layout & product selection

Benches – layout & product selection

Bicycle racks – layout & product selection

Trash cans – layout & product design

2. Review existing Master Plan. Make recommendations. When completed, a planned future traffic study will be incorporated into this review.

3. Define uniform design standards for facades, in coordination with NLNA Zoning committee, including but not limited to: Façade materials
